Divine Child Jesus :

Act of Contrition

My Lord Jesus Christ, true God and true Man, Creator, Father and Redeemer of mine, for being who You are, infinite Goodness, and because I love You above all things, I am heartily sorry for having offended You. I am also sorry because You can punish me with the pains of hell. Aided by Your divine grace, I firmly resolve never to sin again, to confess my sins, and to fulfill the penance imposed upon me. Prayer for Every Day

O God, who out of love for us sent Your Divine Son as our Savior and Redeemer, we ask that through the merits of His infancy, our faith may increase and we may abound in good works. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Fifth Day - The Word of God

"After three days they found him in the temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions; and all who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers.

When his parents saw him they were astonished; and his mother said to him: Son, why have you done this to us? Your father and I have been looking for you with great anxiety. He said to them: Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father's house? But they did not understand what he said to them. He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was obedient to them. His mother kept all these things in her heart.

And Jesus advanced in wisdom and age and favor before God and man." (Lk. 2:46-52)

Reflection

The Holy Family is the model for Christian families: parents must not only provide food, clothing, and education for their children, but must also remember that they are their educators, especially in the faith. Teach them to fulfill their duties to God and to their neighbor. Children, for their part, following the example of the Child Jesus, should love their parents and be docile to their teachings so they may become good citizens and good Christians.

Purpose

I will strive so that in my home there may reign the love and understanding that reigned in the home of the Child Jesus.

Community Prayer

Through the mediation of Jesus let us make our petitions to God our Lord:

That in our homes the virtues of the Child Jesus may flourish. Hear us, Lord.

That, if God judges it fitting, He may grant us the grace we ask for in this novena. Hear us, Lord.

Stanzas

Here in Your Sanctuary with faith and prayer, we all ask for our conversion.

Young and old in great procession, we come joyfully to make our offering.

All the youth with great conviction, radiant with longing go to the Savior.

May our families like Nazareth, come to know its great virtues.

That we love all, the Lord commands us, with all the strength that we love God.

That at the end of my life with Your protection, I may have the joy of my salvation.

O Jesus, bless our families so that parents may be more responsible in their delicate mission and so that more love and understanding may reign between parents and children. Amen.
